Karina Shumyatskaya
BIOGRAPHY
Karina Shumyatskaya (shoom-yacht-sky-ah) is an associate at Hall Prangle, based in Chicago. She focuses her practice on the defense of hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers against medical malpractice claims.
Karina earned her J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law, where she served as captain of the mock trial team. During her time on the team, Karina was named a regional champion of the AAJ Student Trial Advocacy Competition, and a quarterfinalist in the CACJ National Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition. After graduation, she received membership in the Order of Barristers.
During law school, Karina clerked at a local plaintiff’s firm, where she assisted on a variety of personal injury and medical malpractice matters. Prior to joining Hall Prangle, she gained valuable experience as an associate at another local defense firm, where she handled matters involving medical malpractice and premises liability.
