Hall Prangle Partner David Kalimuthu has been named one of the 40 Under Forty Attorneys to Watch for 2025 by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer.
David has built his career on defending hospitals, medical professionals, and other healthcare facilities in complex medical malpractice cases, guiding matters from early investigation through jury trial. With a reputation for skill, professionalism, and integrity, David has become a trusted advocate in the courtroom.
A graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago College of Law (formerly The John Marshall Law School), David served as an editor of The John Marshall Law School Law Review and earned CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in both Administrative Law and Real Estate Transactions. He began his career in insurance defense before turning to his preferred focus of medical malpractice defense. Since joining Hall Prangle in 2020, David has second-chaired several medical malpractice trials through verdict, including a 2022 defense verdict that earned the Jury Verdict Reporter’s Trial Lawyer Excellence Award. Elevated to partner in 2023, he plays an active role in mentoring associates at Hall Prangle, leading CLEs and workshops designed to sharpen litigation skills.
