Welcoming Our 2025 Summer Associates in Chicago

We’re excited to welcome our 2025 summer associates to Hall Prangle’s Chicago office!
This summer, our associates will be immersed in the world of healthcare litigation, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and shadowing attorneys as they prepare for and attend trial. Their time at Hall Prangle will offer hands-on experience and insight into the complexities of medical malpractice defense.
Get to know our talented summer associates below and what they look forward to learning at Hall Prangle this summer:
Jelena Ostojic - I am a rising 3L at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. This past year, I was a member of the Corboy Fellowship Mock Trial Team and will return as captain in the fall. With a strong interest in litigation, I'm excited to observe trials and deepen my understanding of healthcare law this summer. I also look forward to strengthening my advocacy skills while embracing new challenges and learning opportunities.
Khushbu Patel - Hi! I’m a rising 3L at UIC. I’ve been deeply interested in health law throughout law school and served as Vice President of the Health Law Society. This summer, I’m excited to explore medical malpractice defense and gain a deeper understanding of each stage of the trial process—from pretrial strategy to courtroom advocacy.
Ashley Bussell - My name is Ashley Bussell, and I'm a 3L at the University of Illinois College of Law. As an aspiring trial lawyer, specifically trial defense, I'm most excited to attend jury trials this summer, learn more about behind-the-scenes trial prep, participate in defense strategy sessions and litigation lunches, and continue to improve my legal research and writing skills. I'm sure I'll learn a whole lot of medicine along the way, too!
Mallory Jarot - My name is Mallory Jarot, and I am a law student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am in my third year of law school and am beginning my second summer with Hall Prangle as a summer associate. I am excited to continue building my relationships with the attorneys at Hall Prangle and gaining more experience as I enter my final year of law school.
Sharaylynn Horton - I’m currently a 3L at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law. I aspire to be a trial attorney in medical malpractice defense and also plan to dedicate spare time to providing pro bono criminal defense services to underserved communities. I'm excited to gain more experience with motion drafting and to shadow attorneys in court this summer.
We’re thrilled to have such a passionate and driven group with us this summer and can’t wait to see all that they accomplish!
