It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Hall Prangle partner Ricky De Jong, a respected attorney, trusted colleague, and dear friend to many throughout our firm.
Ricky was an accomplished trial lawyer whose practice focused on healthcare litigation and general liability defense. A Chicago native, Ricky earned his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law before beginning his legal career at David De Jong and Associates. He dedicated much of his professional life to Hall Prangle, where he built an outstanding reputation as a skilled advocate and trusted advisor.
In 2019, Ricky relocated from Chicago to Northern Nevada to help lead and support the firm’s expanding practice in the region. As head of Hall Prangle’s Reno office, he played an instrumental role in the growth and success of the firm’s presence in Nevada.
Beyond his many professional accomplishments, Ricky will be remembered most for his generous heart, sincere kindness, and genuine care for others. He brought warmth, humor, and compassion to every interaction, making a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
While living in Chicago, Ricky met and fell in love with his fiancée, Sarah, with whom he built a life in Northern Nevada. Outside of his practice, Ricky enjoyed hiking, skiing, camping, and spending time outdoors.
Ricky’s passing is a tremendous loss to the Hall Prangle family. He will be deeply missed by Sarah, his family, friends, colleagues, and clients. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved him, and we will continue to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of our friend and partner.
