Hall Prangle LLC is pleased to announce that Jacob Goldstein, a Partner in our Chicago office, has been appointed as the firm’s new Managing Partner. He succeeds Partner Marilee Clausing, who has led the firm in this role since 2018.

Jake has served in numerous leadership positions at Hall Prangle, including as Co-Chair of the firm’s Appellate Practice, Hiring Partner, and a member of the Executive and Compensation Committees. With nearly 20 years at the firm, Jake brings a deep understanding of Hall Prangle’s values, culture, and operations to his new role.

“Jake has emerged as one of the strongest leaders at our firm,” said Marilee. “He has a ‘firm first’ mindset, a vision for the future, and he works tirelessly to make it happen. I know we are in excellent hands with Jake at the helm.”

Reflecting on his new position, Jake shared, “I’ve had the benefit of starting my career at the firm as a first-year associate and growing within its ranks,” he shared. “That journey has allowed me to observe, experience, and contribute to the firm at every level, which gives me a unique perspective as I take on this position.”

Jake began his legal career at Hall Prangle in 2006 after graduating from law school. He was mentored by Hugh Griffin, founder of the firm’s Appellate Practice, and became a partner in 2015. In 2018, he was named Co-Chair of the practice, working alongside Griffin. Together, they have argued more than 630 appeals in jurisdictions across the country, including eleven state supreme courts.

As his career has progressed, Jake has become a dedicated mentor, playing an integral role in the firm’s associate training and development efforts. He has led numerous in-house seminars and previously served as an adjunct professor of appellate legal writing and advocacy at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

“I’m honored to step into this role as we continue to grow our firm,” Jake said. “We’re fortunate to have a team of exceptional, experienced trial attorneys operating at the highest level, along with an incredibly talented group of younger attorneys who are well on their way towards establishing themselves in the community and contributing in meaningful ways to the firm. The firm’s present and future are very bright.”

Looking ahead, Jake is focused on strengthening client relationships, some of which span decades, and exploring strategic opportunities across all firm offices to welcome new talent and possibly expand into new jurisdictions. He is also interested in leveraging technology to enhance client service.

“There are opportunities every day to integrate new tools that can reduce costs and increase efficiency while maintaining, and even improving, workplace satisfaction and the level of service we provide to our clients,” he noted.

Please join us in congratulating Jake on his new role. We’re excited for the future of Hall Prangle under his leadership as we continue to grow and expand.
